There's a new video on the EA Sports website demonstrating the "True View" feature in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 for the Wii. The concept is simple: Instead of placing the camera behind the character, this game gives you a first-person perspective of the ball. As you look down at the ball, you are able to position your club with much more precision than you could with a third-person perspective. It's the same kind of perspective you'd get in many pool/billiards games with a top-down perspective. The video features Andrew Johnson of EASPORTS.com interviewing Eric Busch, one of the game's designers. Busch calls this "a new way to play the game," though it's hard to believe there's never been a golf game with a first-person perspective. Still, it looks interesting, and I'm looking forward to playing it. In the video, Busch appears to be using the Wii Motion Plus controller, which I was happy to see. I thought this was a very promising piece of hardware when it was released with Wii Sports Resort, and I have been disappointed there have only been a handful of games to support it. Let's hope this and more games like it use this hardware to its fullest potential. Check out this video for more details.

Likewise, I am glad that
Likewise, I am glad that another game is going to use the Wii Motion Plus add-on. And with that kind of view, I will be really looking forward to playing this incarnation of the game. The Motion Plus device made a huge difference in the control of the game, I can only imagine how much more improved it should be with this.
