The Wii™’s stranglehold on the in-home console fitness market is about to get some serious competition. UbiSoft announced today that Your Shape ™: Fitness Evolved is currently under development; and it’s only coming to the Xbox 360. Slated for release in the Fall of 2010, Your Shape™: Fitness Evolved will utilize the new features of Kinect for Xbox 360 as well as Ubisoft’s own Proprietary Player Projection Technology (holy alliteration, Batman!). The combination of the two cutting-edge technologies will is expected to provide greater results than ever before.
Ubisoft’s Proprietary Player Projection Technology will project the actual silhouette of the player onto their screen. In tracking the body of the player, the game will be able to give more specific feedback as you one’s actual position, allowing for the maximum efficiency for each exercise. Players will also be able to choose what kinds of exercise they want to undertake. You can work out with a personal trainer, take a fitness class like boxing, yoga or martial arts, or even try out mini-games, such as dancing or target practice. Not only that, but the game is capable of coming up with a complete fitness program specifically designed for the individual’s goals, and will evolve as the player adapts; just like a real exercise program.
No big ticket item would be complete without a face to sell it, and Your Shape™: Fitness Evolved is no different. With a roster of personal trainers including Michelle Bridges, the trainer for 5 seasons of Australia’s “Biggest Loser” and Michael George, trainer to the stars, Your Shape ™: Fitness Evolved is sure to deliver.
Topping it off, Your Shape™: Fitness Evolved will have an online Fitness Portal where players will be able to track and share all of the data with others on the site. From there, you can discuss goals, share success stories, and even compete with others who are on the same road to health and fitness.
