Really? And I am being completely serious when I ask, really? Is this really the new look for Superman? We went from having a strong-jawed, muscular strong man to this emo-looking, just-out-of-his-teens little priss. 

Of course, that is not how Dan DiDio, DC Comics co-publisher, described the new look.

"We wanted to tell a story that's hip, sexy, and moody ..." he said. 

They couldn't do that without having to drastically change the look of the Man of Steel? No! They had to make him look flashier in the eyes of the readers. So what, this new Superman is now the Tween of Chrome?

Before you DC fans out there start to get at me for this, yes, I know this new Superman is from Earth 1 Graphic Novel due out Nov. 2 and is all a complete reinterpretation of his youth ... but come on. This new look is simply too much. As the writer of the article points out, the "Twilight Effect" seems to be in full swing at DC.

Oh stars in the sky, please let Marvel avoid doing this to any of their characters. Wait, what ...?
