So it’s the second day of San Diego Comic Con and my day at the convention center is over. The guys and I head back to our hotel room to prepare for events that night will hold. After unloading our bags of shwag, we change into nicer clothes and head out to the MyOuterSpace party on the USS Midway.
Upon arrival, we lend a hand to help get things going. Some guy named Michael got there at the same time and walked into the Midway with us. As our boss separated us into different jobs to help us help her, she led this Michael to make-up because he was third of the list to be interviewed. Soon afterwards, someone came up to us and asked where Mr. Giachhino’s family will seat. At this point, I still haven’t put two and two together.
“Mr. Giachhino? Michael Giachhino is coming?”
Yeah. I’ve been walking around with Michael Giachhino, composer for Lost, Up, and Star Trek (just to name a few) and I didn’t know it! This was the most epic fail moment I’ve ever felt. I had to make it up to myself. I had to muster up the courage to introduce myself to one of my icons. What? William Shatner just walked into the room? Don’t bother me. I’m trying to muster up courage to talk to Michael Giachhino here!
It took a short while because I was jittery and uber nervous, but I finally introduced myself to him. I totally geeked out! Michael Giachhino is such a cool guy. We spent a few minutes talking about how he is so good at making grown men cry. I guess he gets that a lot. I also congratulated him on his academy award he won for Up.
While I may have ran into problems during the convention. Meeting the composer who helped make my favorite show and movie from last year right, made it all worth it.
