To all you Saints out there who thought their adventures in Steelport were over at the end of Saints Row: The Third, get ready to go back to Steelport as Professor Genki, the mad scientist cat of a game show host, prepares to host Genki Bowl VII - the ultimate showcase of violence and mayhem you will see on Steelport television. As leader of the Third Street Saints, you have been invited back to participate in the event and see if you can not only win the Genki Bowl championship, but survive it as well. So strap it back on and get ready to indulge in some more purple pecker wrecker action.

Genki Bowl VII DLC

Genki Bowl VII is the first of three confirmed DLC packs that will be available for download for Saints Row: The Third owners. In this small pack (I will touch on that in a moment), players are invited to participate in the Genki Bowl VII extravaganzas as there are four new mission types for players to take part of. While three of them (Super Ethical PR Opportunity, Angry Tiger's Appocalypse Genki and Sexy Kitten Yarngasm) are just variations of missions we already are familiar with (Escort, S.E.R.C., and Tank Mayhem respectively), the latest mission type, Sad Panda Skyblazing, is a nice breath of fresh air to the Trailblazing mission from the game. You have to play it to find out just how hilarious this new mission is. Actually, all the new missions are fun to play, I just wish there would have been a bit more variation.

In addition to these new mission types, you also get some new costumes for your wardrobe (mostly mask), some new homies to call up on your cell phone (including the three Professor Genki Girls, Genki Bowl VII correspondent Tammy Toliver and Cheap Ass Gamer personality Cheapy D in a separate download), and some new rides for your garage (including the insane Genkimobile). These new additions to Saints Row: The Third really helps prolong your adventures in Steelport - just not by much more. While they may be fun, exciting and fitting in the Saints Row series, they don’t have enough new things to really get too excited about. But for what is presented in Genki Bowl VII, it is amazing and it becomes more of a quality over quantity decision for each person to decide about purchasing this new DLC pack for $7 over the PSN, or 560 points for 360 owners. Of course, if you are a Season Pass holder for Saints Row: The Third, you already have it, so you might as well enjoy it.

And enjoy it you will. If you have been satisfied with what you have played so far in Saints Row: The Third, or have been wanting more from the game finishing it (like I had been), the Genki Bowl VII DLC pack is exactly what you would want in new additions to the game. Yeah, there could have been more, but what is here is as top notch fun as the rest of the game was, and really you can’t complain about that. If the remaining two DLC packs (The Trouble with Clones… and Gangstas in Space) are even half as exciting as the Genki Bowl VII DLC pack was, then Saints Row fans will definitely be enjoying their game well into 2012 and beyond.
